Episode 22: The Hike

Click here to listen to: The Hike

Hi All,

We hope you are enjoying your summer so far!  It seems to be really flying by for us.
We hope you have some wonderful summer time plans, whether it is playing in your yard or traveling to the beach, we'd love to hear about them. Feel free to post fun summer time activities here on the blog or on our Facebook Fan Page.

If you have been listening to us for a while, you may have figured out that "The Hike" is the sequel to a story we posted last year called
"The Walk". Both of them are read by our very own Mr. Chris, who adds his own bit of personality to it.

VORACIOUS VOCABULARY
What did you say? A word of the day! That is right! In our story there are many words that are fun to use and say.

capture: to gain control of.
familiar: commonly known or seen.
muffle: to wrap with something to prevent sound.
terrain: an area of land or the ground.

wriggle: to move along by twisting and turning the body.

JUST ADD IMAGINATION!
Try these activities to keep your imagination glowing after hearing the story.

1. An antonym is a word opposite to the meaning of another. For example, in the story, the words wet and dry are antonyms.  Play a game with someone in your family.  Say a word, such a up and have them come up with the antonym.  You can easily adjust the level of difficulty.

LIGHTING THE WAY WITH WORDS

Click here to listen to our newest story: Lulu and Her Lavender Lion

This is my best friend, known in the Night Light Stories household as Auntie Kerry.  If you have followed us for a while, you will remember when she participated in a very unique race back in October. You can read about it here. Another interesting thing about her is that she has the most unique collection of hats. She has a toucan, flamingo, moose, and just added this chicken hat.  What kind of unique things do you collect or have in your life?  Send your visual definition of unique to nightlightstories@gmail.com or feel free to post it on our Facebook Fan Page

LIGHTING THE WAY WITH WORDS

Happy 4th of July weekend! We hope you enjoy time with your family and friends!  The Night Light Stories household has kicked the weekend off by lighting a campfire to toast marshmallows for s'mores.  We also hope we get to goggle at some fireworks in the sky.  Send your visual definition of toast to nightlightstories@gmail.com or feel free to post it on our Facebook Fan Page
