VORACIOUS VOCABULARY
What did you say? A word of the day! In our story
there are many juicy words that are fun to use and say.

microbes: a microorganism; especially a pathogenic bacterium.
random: proceeding, made or occurring without definite aim.
wailing: to utter a prolonged, inarticulate, mournful cry.
vibrant: vigorous or energetic.

JUST ADD IMAGINATION!
Try these activities to keep your imagination glowing
after hearing the story.

1. Use a blanket to make yourself a cape, a ghost, or throw it over some chairs to make a fort.

2. Write an acrostic poem using the word BLANKET.

3. Uncle Maxwell wrote the cryptic phrase "The Mankie: Wield to Shield". Think of and write out other phrases to describe the other gifts he sent to Simon.

COMPREHENSION CHALLENGE
After listening to the story, can you recall the
details to answer these questions?

2. What is the message on the card he pulls out of the package?

It's that time of year again! Kids and parents are hustling and bustling around purchasing school supplies, picking out new backpacks and setting their fall schedules. I know we are working on making our own schedule here in the Night Light Stories household. One activity already on there is our son's piano lessons.

Do you play an instrument? If so, which one? We'd love for you to share in the comments or leave a picture with you playing your instrument on the Facebook Page.  We hope you have a terrific start to the school year!
