Sharing Tips On Patience With The Mighty Mommy

Hi All,

We were honored to be featured on the Mighty Mommy podcast,  Quick and Dirty Tips for Practical Parenting.  Mr. Chris and I have been listening to her podcast since our son was a newborn.  She provides quick tips on subjects ranging from potty training to reading with your children. It was fun to write her a tip about the strategies we use to teach patience to our two young children.  We had written about it in this blog post and posted a story about it called, "Captain Destructo".

We'd like to extend a special welcome to any visitors from The Mighty Mommy. You can find links to all our original stories to the right. We would love to hear what you think!  Feel free to contact us by leaving a comment on the blog or at nightlightstories@gmail.com, subscribe for free via iTunes, follow us on Twitter at nightlight08, or join our fan page on Facebook at Night Light Stories.  As always, I look forward to the many stories we can share together!

A Guest Narration with A.T.TIPS cast

Hi All,

I was so excited to be asked recently to lend my voice to one of my favorite podcasters, Chris Bugaj, from the A.T.TIPS cast.  The A.T.TIPScast: Assistive Technology Tools In Public Schools is a podcast about using technology to help students meet their educational goals.  Chris Bugaj is a published author, speech pathologist and assistive technology trainer.  He is also my talented co-writer and producer of Night Light Stories!

The episode I narrate features a fairytale written for Better Hearing and Speech Month about a little mermaid who’s voice is stolen and how she goes about finding a new way to communicate. Although this was not written as a Night Light Story,  it is appropriate for all ages. Please feel free to share it with any speech pathologist you know and love!

LIGHTING THE WAY WITH WORDS

The inquisitive Mr. Dowd had to take a picture of the nest to see what was inside.

There are so many things I have learned from our inquisitive children.  We love looking up answers to
their many, many questions and learning something new. Share your visual definition of inquisitive with us at nightlightstories@gmail.com or on our Facebook Fan Page.
