Episode 42: Toe Jam

Click here to listen to: Toe Jam

Hi All,

Do you have a collection? For example, our daughter has a collection of dolls. She keeps them in her room mostly, but sometimes she likes to set them out to see just how many she has. There are many types of things you can collect. Shells, spoons, rocks, stamps or anything you can think of can be collected. Share your collections with us in the comments or post it on our Facebook page!

VORACIOUS VOCABULARY
What did you say? A word of the day! In our story
there are many juicy words that are fun to use and say.

accomplishment: an act or instance of carrying into effect; fulfillment.
cavalcade: any procession
culminate: to rise to or form and apex
donation: a gift, as to a fund; contribution

JUST ADD IMAGINATION!
Try these activities to keep your imagination glowing
after hearing the story.

1. Clean out your sock drawer. Match all of your socks together.
2. Visit the Guinness Book of World Records site. Explore records, search records, or even set a record!
3. Do you have a collection of something? Share it with us in the comments or on our Facebook page! If not, start one and share with us what you're starting to collect!

COMPREHENSION CHALLENGE
After listening to the story, can you recall the
details to answer these questions?

1. Where does Amir store his toe jam in the beginning of the story?
2. What did the main character's grandfather give him for his birthday?
3. Who is the CEO of Get Stuffed Stuffing Company? Bonus: Look up what his name means!
4. When did Bunion burst into life?
5. Where was the toe jam stored before it was taken away?
6. What do you think Amir and the narrator started to collect at the end of the story?
