Episode 31: That's Not How Daddy Does It!

Click here to listen to: That's Not How Daddy Does It!

Hi All,

We want to send out a special thanks to Mover Scott of the Imagination Movers for recording a bumper for us. We wish them all much success on their tour as they travel around the United States.  Speaking of traveling, Mr. Chris has been doing a lot of that lately because he has been presenting at conferences. It’s amazing how accustomed the kids have become to each of our parenting styles. As you listen to the story, consider the following: “What’s something special you do with each of your parents?”

VORACIOUS VOCABULARY
What did you say? A word of the day! In our story there are many
juicy words that are fun to use and say.

expedition: a journey or voyage made for some specific purpose.
fret: to feel or express worry.
mammoth: immensely large.
steed:a horse, especially a high spirited one.

JUST ADD IMAGINATION!
Try these activities to keep your imagination glowing after hearing the story.

1.  Play a rhyming game with a friend or family member. See who can come up with the most rhyming words by tallying them on a piece of paper!  How many words can you come up with that rhyme with: steed, fret, hug, car, plane, play, fair, and friend.

2. If you could go on an expedition, where would it be to? What would you discover?  Draw a picture of you on your expedition

COMPREHENSION CHALLENGE

After listening to the story, can you recall the details to answer these questions?

1. Where is the boy exploring on Day 4?

2. What happens at the bakery that makes the boy's eyes grow twice as wide?
3. How long will his Dad be gone on his trip?
4. Why does the boy begin to fret when he walks into the bathroom?
5. Who does the boy miss at the end of the story?
